007 First Light System Requirements (PC): Every Tier, Plus the New Path Tracing Specs

This guide reflects the latest available requirements as of October 2026. As of the latest update, the 007 First Light system requirements start at a GTX 1660 or RX 5700 (6 GB VRAM), an Intel Core i5-9500 or Ryzen 5 3500, 16 GB of RAM, and an SSD with 80 GB free. That hits 1080p at 30 FPS on Low. For 1080p at 60 FPS, IO Interactive recommends an RTX 3060 Ti or RX 6700 XT with 8 GB of VRAM. Only the top Ultra tier asks for 32 GB of RAM, and the newer path tracing mode needs at least an RTX 5070.

The Official 007 First Light PC Requirements

IO Interactive published five performance tiers on May 8, 2026, ahead of the May 27 launch. Here they all are:

Ultra4K / 200+ FPS (DLSS 4.5)UltraCore i5-13600K / Ryzen 7 7700X32 GBRTX 508016 GB

Every tier also needs Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) and 80 GB of storage on an SSD. IO Interactive says DLSS is not enabled for the Minimum, Recommended, or Enthusiast targets, so those frame rates are native rendering with no upscaling help.

Treat the FPS targets as the developer’s stated goals, not guarantees. Your results will depend on the scene, your drivers, and which settings you tweak.

GPU Requirements: What Actually Matters

The GPU decides your resolution and settings more than any other part. IO Interactive pairs each GPU with a VRAM figure, and the VRAM numbers are worth reading closely:

  • 6 GB gets you in the door at 1080p Low.
  • 8 GB covers the 1080p Medium target.
  • 12 GB is listed for 1440p High.
  • 16 GB is listed for both 4K tiers.

If you have an 8 GB card and want 1440p on High, expect to turn some settings down, since IO Interactive’s own table pairs that target with 12 GB.

AMD and NVIDIA cards both appear in the first four tiers. The Ultra tier lists only an NVIDIA card, and the DLSS features covered below need an NVIDIA RTX GPU.

RAM Requirements: Why 16 GB Is Usually Enough

Four of the five tiers list 16 GB of RAM. Only Ultra lists 32 GB.

That surprises people, because the original spec sheet from January 6, 2026 listed higher numbers: 16 GB for minimum and 32 GB for recommended, with higher VRAM figures too. IO Interactive revised those in its May 8 update. Plenty of older pages still show the January numbers, so check the date on any requirements page before you spend money on a RAM upgrade you may not need.

CPU and Storage

The CPU requirements are modest. The minimum is a 2019-era chip, and the first four tiers share the same Core i5-13500 / Ryzen 5 7600 for everything above minimum. That means upgrading your GPU is likely to help more than upgrading your CPU, unless you’re below the minimum.

Storage matters in a different way: an SSD is required. There’s no listed HDD option at any tier, so if the game would land on a hard drive, move it to an SSD first.

New: 007 First Light Path Tracing Requirements

Cinematic 007 First Light infographic showing path tracing requirements, DLSS 4.5, and RTX 5070, 5080, and 5090 GPU tiers.

On September 15, 2026, IO Interactive released a free PC update that added full path tracing and NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction. The game was originally supposed to have these at launch, but they came later. The update download was reported at around 11 GB.

Path tracing has its own separate requirements, and they’re much higher than the standard tiers:

TierTargetPath Tracing PresetCPURAMGPUVRAM

PT Ultra4K / 200+ FPS (DLSS 4.5)HighCore i5-13600K / Ryzen 7 7700X32 GBRTX 509032 GB

NVIDIA points players toward RTX 50-series desktop GPUs for this mode, and based on current information, path tracing is tied to NVIDIA RTX hardware. If you don’t have a recent RTX card, you can still play the standard version of the game at the tiers above.

If you want path tracing without buying hardware, one option is cloud streaming. A GeForce NOW Ultimate membership supports the DLSS suite.

Mistakes to Avoid

Using the old 32 GB RAM figure. As covered above, the requirements changed after the January listing. Check the date.

Planning around an HDD. An SSD is required. This is the easiest requirement to overlook if you’ve been storing games on a large hard drive.

Treating path tracing as a normal setting. It’s a separate mode with separate requirements. A card that handles Recommended settings well, like an RTX 3060 Ti, is well below the PT Minimum of an RTX 5070.

Expecting DLSS on a GTX 1660. DLSS needs an RTX card, and the GTX 1660 isn’t one. If you’re at the minimum tier, plan on native 1080p at lower settings.

Skipping updates. The path tracing update drew performance complaints at first. IO Interactive said it was working with NVIDIA to look into the reports and clarify settings and hardware requirements. Patch 1.2.2, released in late September, fixed drops to 5–10 FPS in certain scenes on RTX 5070 cards with path tracing enabled. If you saw bad performance earlier, update the game before judging it.

How to Check Whether Your PC Qualifies

  1. Press Windows + R, type dxdiag, and press Enter.
  2. On the System tab, note your processor and memory (RAM).
  3. On the Display tab, note your graphics card and its dedicated memory (VRAM).
  4. Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc), go to Performance, and check whether your drive is listed as SSD or HDD.
  5. Match each figure to the tier table above. The weakest component sets your tier.

One caution: if you meet the minimum on paper but your GPU has less than the listed VRAM, you’re below minimum. Check the VRAM figure itself, not just the card name.

Conclusion

You can run 007 First Light on a GTX 1660, a Core i5-9500, 16 GB of RAM, and an SSD, but only at 1080p and 30 FPS on Low. An RTX 3060 Ti or RX 6700 XT takes you to 1080p at 60 FPS. Most tiers need only 16 GB of RAM, and path tracing is a separate, much more demanding mode that starts at an RTX 5070.
