However, Keen Games has not announced a release hour or new system requirements, so check the Steam and PlayStation Store pages on launch day.

Enshrouded 1.0 Release Date, Platforms and Price
Keen Games confirmed the October 15 date on June 25, 2026. Since then, the studio has repeated it in development updates, so the date looks firm. Early Access lasted more than two and a half years, and the game picked up eight major content updates along the way.
Here is where you can play on launch day:
| Platform | Status |
|---|---|
| PC (Steam) | Launches October 15 |
| PlayStation 5 | Launches October 15, with PS5 Pro support |
| Xbox Series X|S | Planned for spring 2027 |
October 15 is also the console debut. PS5 players never had an Early Access build, so they get the full release from day one. Meanwhile, Xbox players wait longer, because Keen says the game’s large voxel building, terraforming and big multiplayer worlds need more work to meet the studio’s quality bar on Xbox hardware.
The studio has not announced the release hour. As of the latest update, only the day is confirmed, so check your store page rather than trusting any exact time you see online.
Price after the September 8 increase
Keen raised the Steam price by 10 euros on September 8, 2026, which put it at 39.99 euros or the regional equivalent. According to Keen, the increase was always planned for the end of Early Access. In addition, existing owners do not need to buy the game again.
One outlet converted the new price to about $39.99 for US players. Even so, regional pricing and sales can differ, so confirm the live US price in your store before you buy. The earlier Early Access price was $29.99.
Fell Dragon Youngling Boss Fight Changes

The Fell Dragon Youngling has long been the game’s final boss. Many players found it more frustrating than fun, so Keen reworked the fight for 1.0. Mobalytics collected the changes from Keen’s preview video:
- Bug fixes. The dragon no longer resets to full health or gets stuck and unresponsive.
- Deeper arena. You are less likely to fall or get knocked off by the dragon’s gust of wind.
- A ground phase. The dragon now lands, so melee characters can hit it without stunning it first.
- Easier stuns. The fight needs fewer stunning attacks, and the dragon stays stunned for longer.
- Weak spot on every weapon. The weak spot on its back now works with all weapon types.
- Cleaner hitbox. Keen refined the hitbox so attacks connect more reliably.
- Lower health. The dragon’s overall health drops significantly.
- Parry its rocks. Melee characters can parry the dragon’s rock projectiles and send them back, which helps stun it.
On the other side, the dragon takes more damage in its normal phases but slightly less while stunned. Therefore, the fight should reward steady play more than a single big burst. Keen says the goal is a challenge that does not feel like a chore.
Also, dying in a hard fight will change. Enemies will now regain their health gradually after you die, instead of recovering it all at once. However, Keen was still testing that feature internally when it showed it, so the final balance may differ.
Updraft Settings and Movement Speed
Update 8 added a charge time to Updraft and changed the strength of its movement. Many players preferred the older behavior. As a result, Keen added a choice for 1.0.
A new game setting lets you pick between two versions:
| Updraft style | How it works |
|---|---|
| Original | Instant activation, as before Update 8 |
| Newer | The slower version with a charge time |
The choice is personal, so you can switch to whichever feels better. Keen has not published exact movement numbers for either version, as of the latest update. Therefore, test both on your first day, because the difference shows most while climbing and gliding.
Character Customization and New Proportions
Enshrouded 1.0 introduces new player proportions. Keen describes the goal as making Flameborn characters look more like heroes ready to save the realm and less like hobbits.
Existing players do not have to start over. Instead, you can visit Elio Ricci in-game and update your Flameborn to use the new proportions. If you love your current look, you can presumably skip the visit, but Keen has not said whether the old proportions stay available.
Other Enshrouded 1.0 Changes
Keen also fixed several smaller problems that annoy players:
- Stuck NPCs and pets. The studio says it fixed every cause it knows about, so inhabitants should get trapped around bases far less often.
- Fishing rework. Bait now mostly attracts fish from the biome where you collected the bait resources. Improved bait guarantees that a biting fish matches the bait’s tier. In addition, location no longer affects your catch chance, and some fishing spots boost treasure and trash while others boost bites.
Keen has also said the full changelog and a Highlights video are coming in October. So expect more details around launch.
Saves, Skill Trees, Servers and Mods
Progress carries over from Early Access, but one change deserves attention. Two third-party sources, Host Havoc and Enshrouded Companion, report that every character’s skill tree resets at 1.0. They also mention new level caps of 50 and 55 and cite Keen’s September announcements. I could not confirm that wording on Keen’s own pages, so check the official changelog before you rely on it.
If you run a server, these points matter:
- Update on launch day. Your server and players need the 1.0 build, or they will hit a version mismatch.
- Back up first. No server wipe has been announced, but a backup costs you nothing.
- Mind your mods. Enshrouded has no official mod support or Steam Workshop, so test any mods before you update.
For co-op, PC supports up to 16 players in one world, and dedicated servers are a PC feature. Keen has not said whether PS5 players can join them. In the same way, crossplay is not confirmed.

System Requirements, PS5 Pro and Performance
Keen has not published new PC requirements for 1.0 that I could find. Therefore, rely on the Steam store page for the official list on launch day, and treat any other table as unconfirmed.
What we do know is smaller. Keen showed the PS5 version to press at Gamescom, and the release includes PS5 Pro support. In addition, the studio said it was working on performance before launch in an August 27 development update. However, no frame-rate targets exist yet, so wait for launch-week reports if your PC is near the minimum.
Should You Buy Enshrouded 1.0 on Launch Day?
| If you… | Then |
|---|---|
| Own it on Steam already | Do nothing. You keep the game and get 1.0 for free |
| Play on PS5 | Buy on October 15, since this is the first release |
| Play on Xbox | Wait until spring 2027 |
| Run a server for friends | Back up and update on launch day |
| Want proof of performance first | Wait for launch-week reviews and patches |
Common Mistakes
- Expecting an exact release time. Only the date is confirmed.
- Assuming crossplay. Keen has not announced it.
- Skipping the backup. Servers and saves can behave oddly on a big version change.
- Paying twice. Existing owners do not need to buy 1.0 again.
- Trusting unofficial spec tables. Check the store page instead.
Conclusion
Enshrouded 1.0 arrives on October 15 for PC and PS5, with PS5 Pro support, a reworked Fell Dragon Youngling fight, a choice of Updraft styles and new character proportions. Xbox follows in spring 2027, and Keen has not yet shared a release hour or new system requirements. Therefore, back up your saves, check the changelog and confirm the live price before you play. Everything here is accurate as of October 14, 2026, and Keen may change details at launch.
