To use Cookie Clicker cheats in a browser, open the developer console (Ctrl+Shift+J in Chrome, Ctrl+Shift+K in Firefox, or F12 in Edge), paste a command such as Game.Earn(1000000); and press Enter. For the hidden debug menu, run Game.OpenSesame(); or add saysopensesame to the end of your bakery name on the web version. On Steam, you first have to change DEV=0 to DEV=1 in the game’s start.js file, and that blocks Steam achievements while it stays on. However, the PlayStation, Xbox and Switch versions do not expose a console, and no method is known for the Android app.
Summary: Cookie Clicker Cheats
- Open the console: Ctrl+Shift+J in Chrome, Ctrl+Shift+K in Firefox, F12 in Edge, then click the Console tab.
- Add cookies:
Game.Earn(1000000);adds to your bank, andGame.cookies = 1000000;sets it.- Debug menu:
Game.OpenSesame();, or the saysopensesame bakery name on the web version only.- Sugar lumps:
Game.lumps = 100;sets your total.- Steam: edit resources/app/start.js to DEV=1, and expect Steam achievements to stop unlocking while it is on.
- Shadow achievement: setting your bank above your all-time total awards Cheated cookies taste awful, and you can remove it.
- Not confirmed: any method for consoles or the Android app.
Before you cheat: back up your save
Cheats change the game’s variables directly, and a wrong value can wreck a save. The Cookie Clicker wiki recommends exporting your save before you try anything. Open Options, choose Export save, and paste the text into a file you keep.
A second warning matters just as much. Only paste code that you understand into your browser’s console, because a script from an unknown source can do far more than add cookies. Stick to the short commands below.
How to open the console
The console works the same way in every browser, and these shortcuts come from the wiki and recent guides:
| Browser | Windows | Mac |
|---|---|---|
| Chrome | Ctrl+Shift+J or F12 | Cmd+Option+J |
| Firefox | Ctrl+Shift+K or F12 | Cmd+Option+K |
| Edge | F12 | F12 |
| Safari | Not applicable | Cmd+Option+C, after you enable the Develop menu |
Once the panel opens, click the Console tab, because it may open on Elements first. Then paste a command and press Enter. A result of undefined does not mean the command failed. It only means the console had nothing to display.
Commands are case-sensitive. Game.Earn works, but game.earn fails.
Cookie Clicker on Steam
The Steam version runs inside its own app, so it has no browser console by default. PCGamingWiki and several recent guides describe the same fix:
- Right-click Cookie Clicker in Steam, then choose Manage and Browse local files.
- Open the resources folder, then the app folder.
- Open start.js in a text editor, and back it up first.
- Near the top, change
let DEV=0;tolet DEV=1;. - Save the file and relaunch the game. Then press Ctrl+Shift+I and open the Console tab.
There is a real cost. Developer mode stops Steam achievements from unlocking while it is on. Switch the flag back to 0 when you finish if you care about those achievements. In addition, a game update or a file verification can overwrite start.js, so the console may vanish and you will need to repeat the edit.
The bakery-name trick does nothing on Steam, which leaves the file edit as the only route.
Consoles and mobile
Cookie Clicker reached PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch in May 2025. According to a recent guide, those ports do not expose a developer console or the bakery-name shortcut. For the Android app, one guide says no known method exists.
Core cheat commands
These commands come from the Cookie Clicker wiki and match the recent guides I checked:
| Goal | Command |
|---|---|
| Add cookies to your bank | Game.Earn(1000000); |
| Set your bank to an exact amount | Game.cookies = 1000000; |
| Set cookies per second | Game.cookiesPs = 1000000; |
| Set sugar lumps | Game.lumps = 100; |
| Add sugar lumps | Game.gainLumps(10); |
| Keep building prices at base | Game.priceIncrease = 1; |
| Unlock everything | Game.RuinTheFun(); |
| Open the debug menu | Game.OpenSesame(); |
| Unlock one achievement | Game.Win('Achievement name'); |
Game.RuinTheFun(); gives you every upgrade, every achievement and one nonillion cookies in one step, and it removes most of the game. Use it only on a save you plan to throw away.
Infinite cookies, and the trap
The wiki lists two infinite options. Game.cookies = NaN; only makes the bank look infinite. Game.cookies = Infinity; gives you an actual infinite bank.
The real version has a catch. The number above the big cookie can stay stuck on infinity even after you reset or change your bank. To fix the display, run Game.cookies = 0; afterward. If you only want a huge number, Game.Earn(1000000000000); is safer.
Auto clicker scripts
You can click the big cookie automatically from the console:
var autoClicker = setInterval(Game.ClickCookie, 100);
The number is the delay in milliseconds, so 100 means ten clicks per second. To stop it, run clearInterval(autoClicker);.
For golden cookies, the wiki gives this script, which checks twice a second:
setInterval(function() { Game.shimmers.forEach(function(shimmer) { if (shimmer.type == "golden") { shimmer.pop() } }) }, 500);
A script like this keeps running until you refresh the page. If you want auto-clicking that survives a refresh, a userscript manager is the usual route, but only install scripts you have read.
Sugar lump commands
Sugar lumps have their own commands:
| Goal | Command |
|---|---|
| Set your lump count | Game.lumps = 100; |
| Add lumps | Game.gainLumps(10); |
| Change the current lump type | Game.lumpCurrentType = 2; |
For the type, use 0 for normal, 1 for bifurcated, 2 for golden, 3 for meaty and 4 for caramelized.
The Open Sesame debug menu
Open Sesame is a built-in debug panel. There are two ways to turn it on:
- Web version: add saysopensesame to the end of your bakery name. For example, Samantha becomes Samanthasaysopensesame.
- Any version with a console: run
Game.OpenSesame();.
The bakery-name trick works on the web version only. On Steam, you need the console method.
The menu includes one-click tools such as spawning golden cookies with chosen effects, and it also gives you debug upgrades. According to the wiki, these upgrades no longer appear in the store and need the unlock cheat instead:
| Debug upgrade | Effect |
|---|---|
| Ultrascience | New research finishes in 5 seconds |
| Gold hoard | Golden cookies appear every 0.6 seconds |
| Neuromancy | Unlocks every upgrade, and lets you toggle them on and off |
| Perfect idling | Keeps producing cookies while the game is closed |
| Magic shenanigans | Multiplies cookie production by 1,000 |
| Occult obstruction | Cuts cookie production to 0 |
| Turbo-charged soil | Garden plants grow every second |
Cheated cookies taste awful
The game tracks cheating with a shadow achievement named Cheated cookies taste awful. Setting your bank above your all-time baked total triggers it, and so does opening Open Sesame, according to several guides.
You can avoid or undo it:
- Use
Game.Earninstead ofGame.cookies. It raises your bank and your all-time total together, so it does not trigger the achievement. - Remove it afterward with
Game.Achievements['Cheated cookies taste awful'].won = 0;.
On Steam, the shadow achievement does not exist as a Steam achievement, but developer mode itself blocks Steam achievements while it is on. One Steam forum user also reports that unlocking every achievement with commands can sync to Steam, so check before you use bulk unlock commands on a save you care about.
Tips and common mistakes
Back up first. A bad value can break a save, and the export takes ten seconds.
Check your capitals. Game.Earn works and game.earn fails.
Do not try the bakery trick on Steam. It does nothing there.
Do not leave DEV=1 on. It blocks Steam achievements.
Do not use Game.cookies = Infinity casually. The display can stick on infinity.
If you like casual games with seasonal events, our Merge Dragons Patchpunk’s Laboratory guide covers another limited-time event with rewards and dates.
What could change
The developer can change commands, anti-cheat checks or the Steam wrapper in any update. Everything here is accurate as of October 21, 2026, based on the Cookie Clicker wiki, PCGamingWiki and recent guides, and I have not tested each command myself. Check the wiki and the in-game news for changes.
Conclusion
Open your browser console, paste Game.Earn(1000000); and you have cookies, while Game.OpenSesame(); opens the debug menu. Steam players need the start.js edit and lose Steam achievements while it is on, and the console ports have no method. Back up your save first, and prefer Game.Earn to avoid the cheater achievement.
