Terrifier Chapter Release Date and PTB Details

Dead by Daylight 10.3.0 Terrifier Chapter update featuring Art the Clown in a dark, blood-red horror setting, with PTB release date of October 28, 2026, live release date of November 24, 2026, and Steam-only testing details.

Behaviour Interactive posted the 10.3.0 patch notes on Steam on October 28, 2026 at about 15:00 UTC, which is 11:00 AM Eastern and 8:00 AM Pacific. The Public Test Build is Steam only, and the notes do not say when it closes.

The live release date needs care. Recent coverage after the PTB opened, including the Dead by Daylight wiki and several outlets, gives November 24, 2026. Earlier reports pointed to November 12 or November 17, but those were estimates before the announcement. As of the latest update, I treat November 24 as the date most sources support, and you should confirm it on the Steam store page.

The PTB lets you test the content early. Because it is a test, Behaviour can still change Art’s power, perks and the balance changes before the live release.

Art the Clown’s Power: Bag of Toys

Art, listed as The Terrifier, uses a power called Bag of Toys. According to the patch notes, you hold the Ability button to open the bag and pick one of two random Toys. The bag then goes on cooldown and cannot be opened again until the cooldown expires.

Toys are single-use items. Hold the Power button to ready one, and tap the Attack button to use it. A Toy damages healthy Survivors and inflicts a Torture effect on injured ones.

ToyWhat it does
Acid BottleThrown at Survivors, or creates Acid Puddles
FlailA sweeping attack that can strike over certain obstacles
HandgunFires a bullet
FlamethrowerShoots a stream of fire that can ignite Pallets, Windows and Generators
Bike HornReveals Survivors with Killer Instinct and applies Oblivious

The combo is simple. Use one Toy on an injured Survivor to apply Torture, and then use a different Toy to down them and apply the Terrified status.

Taunt and Deadliness

Art also has a Taunt action. Pressing the Ability button to taunt a Terrified Survivor who is hooked or downed grants 1 point of Deadliness to all Toys. It also removes the Terrified status.

Deadliness is the power’s progression system. When a Toy applies Torture, it gains one point of Deadliness, and at maximum Deadliness the Toy can down injured Survivors on its own. The Bike Horn works differently. At maximum Deadliness, it interrupts any Survivor repairing a Generator or healing, and it instantly regresses their progress.

The known issues list adds one caution: the power description does not yet say that the Horn’s Oblivious and Deadliness effects trigger only when multiple Survivors are detected.

Art the Clown’s Killer Perks

Art brings three Killer perks, and Behaviour lists their values for each tier.

PerkEffect
LaughingstockSurvivors within 12 meters of a completed Generator gain Exhausted and Oblivious, and the effects last 3, 4 or 5 seconds after they leave. You also see the Auras of completed Generators
Kill SpreeWhen all remaining Survivors have 2 Hook States and all Generators are done, you can kill Survivors. Both Exit Gate Switches are blocked while you kill, and the block ends 6, 8 or 10 seconds after you finish
Funny BusinessDamaging a Generator gives you 10% Haste for 10 seconds, plus one random effect: 5 extra seconds of Haste, a 2-second stun, a 30-second Generator block or confetti with no effect. The cooldown is 60, 50 or 40 seconds, and the same effect cannot happen twice in a row

Kill Spree is the headline perk, because it lets you kill without hooking once the late game conditions line up. Funny Business is a gamble, since the random result can help or hurt you.

Sienna Shaw’s Survivor Perks

Sienna Shaw, the heroine of the Terrifier films, arrives as a Survivor with three perks.

PerkEffect
Valkyrie’s RageAfter being chased for 40, 35 or 30 seconds, your next pallet stun on the Killer lasts 75% longer
Shared TraumaWhen you take a protection hit, Survivors within 12 meters recover from Exhausted while running for 30, 35 or 40 seconds. Within 32 meters, you see the Auras of Exhausted Survivors
Best Gift EverYou start with 4, 5 or 6 Tokens. The first time you drop each Item type, you spend a Token and the Entity consumes the item, which grants an effect based on the type

Best Gift Ever has the most complicated payoff. Dropping a Flashlight blinds the Killer for 2 seconds whenever you stun them. A Medkit gives you 25% healing speed while you heal another Survivor. A Toolbox shows you the Auras of the 3 Generators closest to each other. The notes also list effects for Fog Vials, Keys and Maps.

One known issue affects the Flashlight effect, because Deathslinger gets blinded when his chain breaks.

Hartshorne Mall Map

The update adds Hartshorne Mall, set in a new realm called The Subdivisions. The lore comes from Dwight, who lost his parents in the mall as a child and found a quiet, disturbing space behind a door marked Employees Only.

Behaviour has not published the map’s layout, size or hook count in the notes I read, so there is little else to say. Expect to learn the loops in the PTB.

Gore Customization Settings

The update adds gore settings under the Gameplay tab in the Settings menu:

  • Death Sequences: toggle them to reduce how gory they look.
  • Natural Blood Color: switch blood to a neutral green tone.
  • Regional Streamer Mode: applies both toggles and anonymizes all player information.

The known issues list says some blood remains red even with the green setting active, including blood from some Moris and the vignette when you fail a skill check on a hook. So expect polish before the live release.

Mori System Update

Behaviour split Moris into three categories:

  1. Finisher Moris
  2. Power Moris
  3. Memento Mori offerings and Perk Moris

Each type overrides the one below it when its conditions are met, so you only see one Kill prompt at a time. All Moris now use the Killer’s Attack input. The Terrifier is the first Killer built on this system, and the notes say it will roll out to older Killers over time. Not every Killer will have a Power Mori.

Perk Balance Changes

The 10.2.0 patch changed many perks, and 10.3.0 adjusts six of them. Behaviour says some numbers were conservative and others needed tuning.

PerkChange
Dark Sense (Survivor)Now uses tokens: you earn 1 at the start and after each Generator, up to 5, and spend 1 when the Killer comes within 20 meters. The effect lasts 13, 14 or 15 seconds
Calm Spirit (Survivor)Bless, cleanse and chest speed rises to 23, 24 or 25%, up from 8, 9 or 10%
Slippery Meat (Survivor)Unhook speed bonus drops to 65, 70 or 75%, from 90, 95 or 100%, and the Haste bonus rises to 7%, from 5%
Dark Arrogance (Killer)Window vault bonus drops to 15%, and successful-attack cooldown reduction is 13, 14 or 15%. The penalty is 15% longer and now includes missed attacks
Ravenous (Killer)The Exposed duration drops to 60, 65 or 70 seconds, from 80, 85 or 90
Whispers (Killer)Haste outside the detection range rises to 7%, from 5%

The developers explain the reasoning in their notes. Slippery Meat nearly removed the risk for the Survivor unhooking you, so Behaviour shifted some of its power to the Haste bonus.

Notable Bug Fixes

The patch includes a long list of fixes, and these are the most useful for players:

  • Bots. Survivor Bots no longer try to cleanse a totem someone else is using, and a tentative fix targets bots that fail to unhook.
  • Characters. The Good Guy’s camera sits closer, and The Judgment can no longer block a Survivor from leaving the 32-meter range.
  • Perks. Lay Waste, Merciless Storm, Hex: The Third Seal and Chemical Trap each received a fix.
  • Maps. Fixes cover Raccoon City Police Station, Pale Rose, Grim Pantry, Temple of Purgation and Disturbed Ward.

Known Issues

Behaviour lists several issues for the PTB, so treat it as unfinished. Besides the ones above, the Terrifier’s Mori tracker does not change state after a power Mori, the match details screen shows incorrect information, and the Terrifier’s camera shakes briefly after interrupting a vault.
