Genshin Impact Mitya Hidden Paths rewards guide featuring Mitya, the Detection Core, the Energy Glow accessory, and Version 7.2 release date.
Discover Mitya’s hidden paths mechanic, the Energy Glow accessory, and what to know before Genshin Impact Version 7.2 launches on November 4, 2026.

Genshin Impact Mitya Hidden Paths Rewards What We Know Before Version 7.2

Mitya’s hidden paths rewards come from a field ability in Snezhnaya: in certain areas, his tapped Elemental Skill clears rocks and blockades, and what they leave behind can be exchanged for cosmetics. The one reward named so far is an Energy Glow accessory, sold at Novokitezhgrad’s Antykvariat, and the Version 7.2 preview also showed an outfit for him. Version 7.2 isn’t live yet, so exact rock locations, costs and the outfit’s unlock method are still unknown.

⚡ Quick Intel: Mitya Hidden Paths

  • Version: 7.2 “Hour of Ruin”, November 4
  • Ability: Tapped Elemental Skill clears rocks
  • Exchange Point: Novokitezhgrad’s Antykvariat
  • Named Reward: Energy Glow accessory
  • Status: Pre-release, details may change

Last verified: November 1, 2026. Genshin Impact Version 7.2 launches on November 4, so everything below comes from previews, the official character showcase as quoted by other outlets, and beta data that may change before launch.

What the hidden paths mechanic is

HoYoverse’s Version 7.2 preview describes Mitya’s detection device as a tool for finding hidden paths in certain parts of Snezhnaya and unlocking a reward that changes his appearance. It is a traveling ability rather than a combat one, similar in spirit to how other characters open up the map for exploration.

The mechanic is limited to Snezhnaya. The Game8 character page notes that his passive talent only works there, in specific areas, so it will not clear obstacles in older regions.

How to use Mitya’s detection device

Genshin Impact Mitya Hidden Paths Rewards featured image showing Mitya using his glowing purple Detection Core to reveal and destroy hidden rock barriers in a snowy Snezhnaya landscape, with Tap and Hold ability indicators.

Mitya’s Elemental Skill, Principle: Variable Detection, creates a Detection Core. The core behaves differently depending on whether you tap or hold the skill. Tapping makes it follow the active character and deal off-field Electro damage, while holding it lets Mitya consume his energy for special Charged Attacks.

For exploration, the showcase says the tapped Skill is the one that clears certain rocks. The beta wiki adds that the core’s Steady State can quickly clear destructible rocks nearby. Based on that, the likely routine is:

  1. Bring Mitya into your party while you explore Snezhnaya.
  2. Look for blockades or rock formations that stand in the way of a path.
  3. Tap the Elemental Skill near them to place the Detection Core.
  4. If it doesn’t clear on the first attempt, tap the Skill again within six seconds to change the core’s state, which the beta wiki says is possible every 1.5 seconds.
  5. Collect what the rocks leave behind.

This sequence is our reading of the beta descriptions rather than something we have tested, and the game may differ.

One naming quirk is worth knowing. Some outlets call the tool the Detection Core, and Inven Global calls it the Detection Reactor. They appear to be the same device.

What the hidden paths reward

The material from those rocks can be exchanged for cosmetics at the Antykvariat in Novokitezhgrad, the underground city that is one of the two new locations in eastern Snezhnaya. The only named cosmetic so far is the Energy Glow accessory.

The Version 7.2 Special Program also previewed an outfit for Mitya as an appearance reward. Coverage of the beta says how to get it hasn’t been announced, so treat the “secret outfit” as unconfirmed until the update ships. We can’t say whether it comes from the same exchange or from a separate task.

What is still unknown

QuestionStatus
Where the clearable rocks areNot documented. Only “certain areas of Snezhnaya”
What the dropped material is calledNot confirmed
How many are needed for Energy GlowNot confirmed
How the previewed outfit is unlockedNot announced
Whether you must own Mitya to use the abilityNot stated
Whether the Test Run trial character can do itNot stated

The last two matter most before you decide whether to wish. The ability is built into his kit, so owning him is the safest assumption, but nobody has confirmed whether trial or borrowed versions can clear the rocks.

How to get Mitya

Mitya is a 5-star Electro Catalyst user who headlines the first phase of the Myriad Patterns Unfold Event Wish, alongside a Furina rerun. The Version 7.2 Archon Quest awards 560 Primogems and ascension materials for Mitya if you finish it within the designated period. A Test Run event also offers a path to ascension materials, up to level 60.

If the hidden paths rewards are your main reason for wishing, consider waiting a few days for players to document how many materials the exchange needs. Cosmetic rewards rarely justify pulling on their own.

Preparing for November 4

  • Make sure Snezhnaya is unlocked on your account. It opened in Version 7.0 on August 12, 2026.
  • Expect the new eastern region to be reached by train, with Novokitezhgrad and Old Kitezhgrad as the two new cities.
  • Follow the new Meeting Point quests, which involve Mitya investigating the soil near Teplo Oasis.
  • Check back after launch for a verified route and costs.

Free Primogems from the 7.2 livestream codes

GosuGamers reports three redemption codes from the Version 7.2 preview livestream: HourofRuin (100 Primogems and 10 Mystic Enhancement Ore), ExpertMitya (100 Primogems and five Hero’s Wit) and PhotoTime (100 Primogems and 50,000 Mora). They aren’t tied to the hidden paths, but 300 Primogems helps if you plan to wish for Mitya. Livestream codes usually expire, and we haven’t tested these, so redeem them early and check the expiry shown on the redemption page.

What to record once the update is live

The biggest gaps in this guide can be filled quickly after November 4. If you clear Mitya’s rocks, note where each formation sits on the map, what material it leaves, how many you need for the Energy Glow accessory at the Antykvariat, and whether the previewed outfit appears as a separate task. A few screenshots with map positions would turn this preview into a proper route guide, and they would show whether the ability works with a trial Mitya or only with one you own.
