Hytale Goblin Breach Console Upgrade Guide Goblin Lab Location, Void Timer, Voidhearts and Gadget Recipes

The Hytale Goblin Breach Console sits inside the Goblin Lab in the Forgotten Temple, just left of the Heart of Orbis. You unlock the lab by collecting 10 Scrap inside a Goblin Breach and feeding it to the broken Goblin Power Generator. After that, you spend Scraps, Void Crystal Shards and Voidhearts at the Console to raise your breach timer above the 10-minute base. However, the Console is an in-game machine, not a gaming console, and sources disagree on several gadget recipes, so check each cost in the game before you spend.

Summary: Hytale Goblin Breach Console

  • What it is: a machine in the Goblin Lab that adds time to future Goblin Breach runs and unlocks higher-tier rewards.
  • Where: the Goblin Lab, a scrap-heap building to the left of the Heart of Orbis in the Forgotten Temple.
  • Unlock: enter a breach, collect 10 Scrap, then repair the Goblin Power Generator.
  • Void timer: the base limit is 10 minutes, and the first upgrade reportedly costs 10 Scraps and 2 Void Crystal Shards for 12 minutes.
  • Next upgrade: reportedly 8 Void Crystal Shards and 2 Voidheart for one more minute.
  • Update: Chapter I: Out of the Breach (Update 7) launched October 12, 2026 in Exploration Mode.
  • Not confirmed: costs for later Console tiers and a single agreed recipe for the Scrap Drill and Goblin Repair Kit.

What the Goblin Breach Console does

Chapter I: Out of the Breach is Hytale’s first Early Access content chapter, and it went live on October 12, 2026. It adds the Goblin Breach, a temporary portal event that sends you to an unstable fragment of Orbis called the Guttering Hollows. Goblins have claimed that fragment, and the Void presses in around its edges. Every time you enter, the space regenerates, and the Void eventually pushes you out.

The Console is how you fight that limit. According to the official post, you can earn more time by pushing the Void back and by upgrading the Goblin Breach Console in the Goblin Lab. Upgrades also unlock higher-tier rewards on later runs, so the Console is the main progression tool for breach farming.

Where to find the Goblin Lab and the Console

Hytale Goblin Breach guide showing the Forgotten Temple Gateway, Earthen Golem, glowing portal, Goblin Lab location and laser door generator.

The Goblin Lab lives in the Forgotten Temple, so the first job is reaching the temple itself:

  1. Find the Forgotten Temple Gateway. Follow the Forgotten Temple marker on your compass, or open the map with M and look for the spiral portal icon.
  2. Get past the Earthen Golem. A glowing statue stands at the gateway, and the golem guards the stairs behind it. You can sprint past it, but beating it opens the room’s loot. When the golem winds up its spin attack, run instead of blocking.
  3. Enter the portal. It takes you to the Forgotten Temple, a safe hub full of friendly NPCs.
  4. Walk to the Goblin Lab. It is a rusty heap of scrap metal to the left of the Heart of Orbis, with broken devices including the Goblin Power Generator, Boiler, Engine and Compressor.

A laser door blocks the workbench until you repair the generator. One guide describes the generator as sitting to the right of the door.

How to unlock the Console

The unlock is a short loop:

  1. Wait for a breach. A large Breach in Progress message appears, and a bright yellow column of electrical energy rises from the ground. If you skip the lab, breaches still start on their own after a few in-game nights.
  2. Jump in. A few goblins guard the portal, but you can run past them.
  3. Collect 10 Scrap. Look for Shiny Scrap Piles and mine them with a Copper Pickaxe or better. Most players can grab all 10 in one run under 10 minutes.
  4. Repair the Goblin Power Generator. Back in the Forgotten Temple, feed it the Scrap. That opens the lab, including the Goblin Workbench and the Console.

The rest of the lab’s machines open as you progress, and each one unlocks more recipes.

How to increase the Void timer

The base limit is 10 minutes, and you have two ways to beat it: permanent upgrades and in-run extensions.

MethodWhat you doResult
Console upgrade 1Pay 10 Scraps and 2 Void Crystal ShardsLimit rises from 10 to 12 minutes
Console upgrade 2Pay 8 Void Crystal Shards and 2 VoidheartOne more minute
Hourglass RelicsPick one up during a runOne observed pickup added one minute
Large Void targetsDestroy bigger Void anomaliesAdds time to the clock

Those two upgrade costs come from a single guide, and the author tells readers to check the Console’s listed requirements before spending. No source I found lists tiers beyond the second, so treat anything past it as unconfirmed.

In practice, extensions matter as much as upgrades. When time runs low, head for a nearby large target instead of starting a long fight.

Farming Void Crystal Shards

Shards feed the Console, and the Void Crystal Shards only appear in the Guttering Hollows. Here are the guaranteed sources:

SourceShards
Void Crystal (during a Void Surge)1 to 10
Void Fiend (Entombed)2 to 3
Revenant Guardian1 to 2
Tier 3 to 5 chests1 to 5
Veilbound Coffer (waves 1 to 5)1 to 8

Chests inside small houses ringed by thorny bushes often sit in skeleton-filled cellars, and you reach them by ladder. In addition, purple crystal formations are minable, and an Adamantite Pickaxe can break Void crystals. If a formation will not break, destroy the Void growth guarding it first.

Voidheart farming

Voidhearts are scarcer, and they gate the better upgrades. They drop from Void creatures, which no longer roam the overworld at night since Chapter I. Instead, you find them in the Guttering Hollows. Most Void enemies now drop more Essence of the Void than before, but Voidhearts drop less often.

Because a Voidheart also pays for hunts, the second Console upgrade and the Deepworks key, spend them with a plan. Starting a hunt on the far side of a breach costs one, so do not burn your only Voidheart on a hunt before you check what else you need. Sources do not agree on an exact drop rate, so expect to run several breaches.

Scrap Drill and Goblin Repair Kit upgrades

Both gadgets come from the Goblin Tinkerer’s Workbench. The Scrap Drill mines a 2×2 patch of blocks at once and can break and loot metal blocks, which makes it a strong ore tool. The Goblin Repair Kit repairs an item without lowering its maximum durability, so it is the right pick for your best gear.

Recipes are where the sources split, so here is the range I found:

GadgetReported recipe AReported recipe B
Scrap Drill100 Scraps, 15 Iron Ingots, 2 Dubious Assembly, 2 Enkindled Sigil100 Scraps, 15 Iron Ingots, 8 Dubious Assembly, 2 Enkindled Sigil
Goblin Repair Kit30 Scraps, 3 Dubious Assembly, 2 Spider Silk, 1 Bundled Treasure30 Scraps, 4 Dubious Assembly, 6 Boom Powder, 1 Voidtaken Grizzly Hide

One list also shows two Goblin Repair Kits per craft. These look like different game versions, and I could not tell which one is current. Therefore, open the workbench and read the recipe before you gather materials.

The lab’s machines unlock the recipes. Reported repair costs include 10 Scraps for the Generator, 4 Dubious Assembly and 2 Spider Silk for the Boiler, and 8 Void Crystal Shards with a Voidheart and an Enkindled Sigil for the Engine. The Compressor cost varies between sources, from 60 Scraps and a Bundled Treasure to 75 Scraps, 3 Voidhearts, 2 Enkindled Sigils and a Bundled Treasure.

Tips and common mistakes

Do not confuse the Console with a gaming console. It is a machine in the Goblin Lab, and it has nothing to do with PlayStation or Xbox.

Do not spend shards on gadgets first. The Console also eats shards, so keep a reserve if you plan repeat trips.

Do not skip the timer. Plan a route before you jump in, and grab chests before you chase fights.

Do not trust one recipe list. Check the workbench in the game.

Server owners can switch breaches off. Breaches start on their own after a few in-game nights, and you can toggle world events per world with the /worldevent command. New Creative worlds have them off by default.

What could change

Hytale is in Early Access, and Hypixel Studios can rebalance costs, timers and drop rates in any patch. Everything here is accurate as of October 18, 2026, based on the official Chapter I announcement and community guides updated through October 14. Check the Console’s requirements in the game before you spend.

Conclusion

Upgrade the Goblin Breach Console in the Goblin Lab to push your Void timer past 10 minutes, and feed it Scraps, Void Crystal Shards and Voidhearts. Unlock the lab with 10 Scrap, farm shards in the Guttering Hollows and ration your Voidhearts. Verify every recipe in the game, because the Scrap Drill and Goblin Repair Kit costs differ between sources.
