The Yondel Reaper King is not hiding somewhere in your procedural world. It is the final boss of the Halloween event’s haunted dungeon, which opened with update 0.5.0. A new portal in the dungeon lobby leads to one large haunted map for 1 to 6 players, and the Reaper King waits at the end of it. The event runs until November 15.

Where to find the Reaper King

Everything below comes from the developer’s official 0.5.0 patch notes on Steam.
- Update to 0.5.0. Version 0.5.0 cannot play co-op with 0.4.9, so everyone in your group must update before playing together.
- Open the dungeon lobby. The update also adds a dedicated dungeon button to the main menu.
- Find the new Halloween portal inside the lobby and enter it.
- Fight through the haunted map to its end, where the Reaper King is waiting.
Because the boss lives in an instanced event map, there is no spawn coordinate to find and no summoning ritual in the patch notes. If you were searching for a “spawn location” or “how to spawn” the Reaper King, the answer is the portal. The patch notes don’t mention an item or condition you need first, and any level can enter.
What you’ll fight on the way
The haunted map is filled with ghosts, ravens, reapers, scarecrows, pumpkins, zombies, wolf men and living trees. The patch notes also mention a hidden lair containing an elite wolf man, though they don’t say where it is. Players hunting for extra loot should keep an eye out for it.
The atmosphere is part of the challenge. Endless rain, lightning, ground fog and flickering lamps set the scene, and you’ll hear whispers, phantom footsteps and a heartbeat when danger is close. Treat those audio cues as a warning system.
Before you go in
Several 0.5.0 changes affect how this run plays out:
- Smarter monsters. Enemies now find their way around walls, need line of sight to spot you, and remember where they last saw you. In practice that means hiding behind a wall will not reset a fight on its own, but breaking line of sight does still matter. This is our reading of the patch notes rather than something we have tested.
- Weapon attack speed. Weapons now have an attack speed, so compare your gear on that stat as well as damage.
- Dungeon health carries over. Health and hunger from a dungeon run now carry back into your world, and dying in a dungeon leaves you at half health. Eat before you go in and plan on resting afterward.
- Co-op is allowed. You can bring up to five other players, and levels don’t gate entry.
Reaper King drops: what is confirmed
The patch notes list the event’s loot but don’t give a drop table for the Reaper King itself, so we can’t say which items it drops or at what rates. What the event offers overall is candy, spooky wood, spooky ore and spooky resin, plus the Candy Sword and Bat Sword. Three Halloween armor sets, Spooky, Ghost and Hell Rider, can be forged at the anvil using spooky bars and candy. There are also graves, spooky signs, lantern stands and a pumpkin lantern for decorating your base.
None of those sources attribute a specific item to the Reaper King kill. We’ll update this section once reliable drop information is available.
How to defeat the Reaper King
There is no verified guide to the Reaper King’s attack patterns or phases yet, and we haven’t fought it ourselves. The only officially documented detail is that a leaderboard beside the portal ranks the fastest Reaper King kills, which suggests the fight is meant to be repeated. We’ll add real strategy once it is documented by the developer or reproduced by players.
